Christians Abroad partners with the INF and the Himalayan Foundation Nepal.

Both are small scale grass roots community projects - micro credit schemes, farming techniques, sewing school etc.

The INF project is mentioned below - you can be involved through fundraising, prayer and if you are a postgraduate student of development studies and would like to do your dissertation whilst being alongside the community health and development programme, there may well be an opportunity for you.

Rolpa Project Summary

Christians Abroad has partnered with INF (international Nepal Fellowship) on a community and health development project in the Rolpa area in Northwest Nepal.

The project focuses on strengthening climate -resilient livelihoods, Food security, inclusion, and community governance among vulnerable and marginalised households. This is one of the poorest areas in Nepal.

The program is run by self-help community groups and involves direct initiatives covering education and training, income saving and food security, environmental protection and community lead action.

The latest developments this year have seen households establish kitchen gardens, the introduction of polytunnels, training in new crops for agriculture, wastewater irrigation over 1000 trees planted, new saving schemes and much more.

The program has run for one year and has funds for the next year but is seeking future support to continue another year to maximise all the benefits.

Please consider contributing to this sustainable project which will enhance the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Rolpa not only increasing their current livelihoods but providing new ways to help combat climate change and new programs to help community development. Further investment allows early gains to consolidate into a self-sustaining economic program.
