Mumias Secondary Vocational School for Deaf Girls, Kenya
Experienced Teachers with IT skills A Secondary School for Deaf Girls (with a specialist unit for the deaf/blind) in
Mumias, Kenya, requires a teacher to teach Information Technology.
In January 2000 the school took delivery of a shipment of refurbished computers provided by UK agencies and had some assistance in setting these up. Further work needs to be undertaken to set up a small network, install new programmes, maintain and sort out any problems, teach IT and train other local staff in this system. It is important to fit in with the ethos of the school and to be prepared to help out with extra-curricular activities.
There is a need for qualified staff, with Christian commitment, as the school is managed and run by Catholic Sisters. An element of self-funding will be required. Length of stay by negotiation, but a
3 to 6 month placement is thought practical. Contact
