Short-term placements for Doctors Warri, Nigeria

Doctors are urgently needed in the Delta State of Nigeria, based near the city of Warri. Short-term placements are possible (minimum two weeks), but longer-term commitment is encouraged.

The project uses a mobile clinic to reach those without any alternative medical care. The work will initially at least be with an accompanying local doctor. The exact itinerary will be decided in consultation with local church leaders and government health staff, between whom there is good co-operation.

Participants will need to meet their own travel costs to Nigeria - tickets will be arranged by us, but other costs will be covered. Visa costs and local transport will be covered. Accommodation with electricity, water and all normal services will be provided, together with domestic staff and a driver.

Common ailments in the region are malaria, diabetes and hypertension, pelvic tumours and ovarian cysts, plus eye complaints and ENT.
