Rector, Interlink Polytechnic, Oshun State, Nigeria

This college in Ijebu-Jesa, a rural area of Oshun State, South West Nigeria is looking for a Acting Rector willing to serve for two years and responsible for the leadership and management of the college and to develop the ethos of the institution - its educational character and the interests of its students. The rector will also lead the institution’s staff is delivering high standards and quality and ensure that good personnel procedures are implemented.

The college currently teaches national Diploma and Higher national Diploma courses as well as professional courses, but is hoping to progress to study of first degrees. The College is looking for someone with experience and of high academic qualification (preferably a PHD). The rector will be the Chief Executive of the institution, responsible for the day to day running with a commitment to deliver excellence in education to students at all levels of ability. Responsibilities will also include setting and managing budgets, and working with others responsible for developing strategic polices of education standards and discipline, etc.

Ideally someone would start in September after a staff induction programme at the college’s London office. The college operates in English and full facilities will be available including electricity, water, telephone and Internet links and all normal domestic facilities. Local health, sports and recreation facilities are available. Financial support will be available and this will be negotiated with the UK office. The Rector will be responsible to a local Governing Council (a volunteer body), and there will be close colleagues with other major responsibilities, a secretary and personal assistants.

It is important that the holder of this post has a Christian faith but a particular denomination is not required. There are many local churches of many denominations and opportunities for voluntary Christian activities. The College has an office in NE London and interested applicants will be referred on to that group.
