Longer Term Opportunities through Christians Abroad (usually for a minimum of one year) arise from time to time and they will be advertised here. Long Term Appointments will usually be fully funded, i.e. the minimum financial support would be air fares, preparation and training, accommodation allowances or free accommodation, living allowances, insurance and VDW NI where applicable.

THE BRITISH AND IRISH AMITY TEACHERS' PROGRAMME
This programme has been recruiting each year for several years and in recent times appoints between one and three new teachers to this two year programme each year. It provides the minimum allowance suggested above. We are currently recruiting for August 2013. See the Home Page of this site if you are interested.

DOCTORS IN WEST AFRICA
There is an appointment in Sierra Leone for a doctor serving with the Nixon Memorial Hospital. This appointment for a minimum of six months is fully funded and, although the hospital is need of resources, it has a strong primary health care programme. Applications can be made at any time.

TEACHERS IN EAST AFRICA
There are vacancies for teachers in East Africa and elsewhere that are ongoing and applications are always welcome from trained teachers with a minimum of one year's  teaching experience. Such appointments are usually for two years, although one year may be acceptable. Such vacancies may only be partially funded ... you may have to provide your own air fares and insurance.
