Opportunities For Short Term Self Funded Volunteer
Help is needed teaching English to local children (including orphans) in the school of the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin in Gampola, Sri Lanka, and caring for the basic needs of young children in the orphanage. Cost: One month approximately £1600, Three months approximately £2000.
Volunteers required to work with the children of St Antony Nursery and Primary School, in South India, run by the Unity Charitable Trust. Cost for a one month placement is approximately £2000. Three months, approximately £2500.
The Catholic Sisters of Motobo are looking for social work and healthcare assistance in their 'LIve with Hope' Centre for orphans in central Kenya for three months or more. Cost: Three months, £1600.

This project is based in the large modern city of Accra. Volunteers are needed to care for orphans, teach from nursery to junior high school level, assist with health care, journalism, administration in legal chambers and sports coaching. Cost: One month £2100, three months £2700.
Opportunities for medical professionals and medical elective students in Cameroon, West Africa are available at St Elizabeth General Hospital, Shisong from summer 2010 and at Bafut Medical Centre. Three month minimum placements preferred. Cost: Three months approximately £2500. Please note: Placements not available at present due to building work.
