Opportunities For Short Term Self Funded Volunteer
Community based projects need volunteers in Madurai, Southern India. Local contact Miriam Sahayani arranges placements and accommodation. Cost: One month, £2000. Three months, £2500.

Teachers are wanted for one year placements in three Protestant High Schools on these remote Pacific islands. Ability to teach English, Maths or Science is preferred. The cost for one year is £2600.
Volunteering opportunities in teaching, healthcare, environmental and construction work, caring for orphans and veterinary experience in Kenya is organised by Nairobi based Gracepatt Ecotours. Overall cost for a month’s stay is approximately £2500.

Volunteers Unlimited of Cape Town, South Africa offers many opportunities for voluntary community service with orphans, abused girls and women and disabled people. In addition, sports for disadvantaged youth, primary school teaching assistance and work preserving nature and animals are available. Cost: One month, £2400, three months, £2800.
Bishop Ede from the Nigerian Methodist Church is looking for volunteers in the fields of musical instrument tuition, school administration and institutional management and administration. There is also a need for an experiencec person to help develop sustainable rural livleihoods, working with the Methodist care ministry among the poor and needy. Immigration papers, transport, accommodation and tourist opportunities will all be provided. A six month commitment is preferred. Cost: three months, £2200; six months £2800
