Opportunities For Short Term Self Funded Volunteer
Voluntary Service for Peace organises cross-cultural camps for adults and children in a variety of environments across South India and also runs an orphanage. One month’s placement costs approximately £2000, three months would cost approximately £2400.
Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Doctors, Nurses, Disabled Care Specialists, Social Workers: Serve God by serving the needy with this rehabilitation project in Yemen. Approximate overall cost for a three month placement would be £3000.
Interested in helping disabled people in Kenya? The Reach Out Disabled Foundation is seeking a volunteer for at least three months to manage and administrate the various programmes for disabled people of all ages. Cost: Three months approximately £2500.
Science teachers required in Tanzania. Up to four teachers are needed for Science subjects at a newly established Anglican secondary school for a minimum of six months. Cost: Six months £1800.
‘Give a Heart to Africa’ is a Tanzanian project hoping to attract volunteer teachers to work in its school, offering English, Business basics or Computer basics. One to three months preferred. Cost: One month approximately £2300. Three months approximately £3700.
The Pennwood Academy in Nepal is looking for volunteers to teach in this newly founded school catering for the whole age range. Three months preferred. Cost: Three months approximately £2000.
The Peace and Conflict Resolution project in DR Congo is looking for volunteers to work with people affected by recent conflicts. Cost: One month approximately £3000.
Teams wanted for community building projects in South Africa. The Gateway Project, based in Pietermaritzburg, is looking for teams of Christian volunteers to help with practical work such as renovation and building work for various poverty-alleviating projects. Cost for one month: £2500.
