Volunteer teacher required for new language school . One or two years preferred. The overall cost for one year is £6500.
The International Centre for Languages is an evangelical Christian college opening in April 2010 in a small rural town attracting students from ten years old to adult. It is run by a small group of Yemeni and foreign believers who serve the kingdom of God in Yemen. A qualified teacher of between twenty-two and forty years old is required for a one or two year period. A labour licence and a residence permit will be provided by the college. Some training in Arabic will be given. Accommodation and services will be modern, with good opportunities for local leisure and sports in this safe area one hour’s drive from the capital. There is a well-equipped medical centre in the town. The weather is warm and rainy in summer and cold in the winter. Local traditional values include hospitality and friendliness to visitors but also restrictions on alcohol, women's clothing and relational behaviour in public.
Cost: The total cost includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation and living costs. Additional costs for internal travel, sightseeing etc are not included. Please be aware that air fares vary according to season.
Christians Abroad has not yet recruited volunteers for this project but has received a good reference from another Christian worker in Yemen.
