Opportunities For Short Term Self Funded Volunteer

Christian work with children in Ivory Coast

L' Enfant Noir Pour une Elevation (ENPUE) and Overcomes Faith Chapel in Abidjan  is looking for French/ English speaking volunteer to work with the NGO in its ministry to children and young people and to assist in its orphanage. Free food and accommodation would be provided at the home of the project coordinator Mrs Regina Bokwe. One, two or three months would cost £1500.

Teach poor children in Cameroon

altThe Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC) would like volunteers to teach in its school for poor children in a village close to the city of Yaounde. The total cost would be £1800 for one month or £2100 for three months. Air fares vary according to season, however.

Teaching and social care work near Darjeeling, India

altThe Rainbow Academyis a school for poor children set up by local Christians and is in need of volunteers to teach English and help with extra curricular activities.  ‘Shanti Kunj’ is a recently established small residential home for destitute old ladies in Siliguri, near Darjeeling. A female volunteer is needed to provide daily care for two ladies. For either project, one month would cost £1700, three months £2000.

Christian work in Nazareth, Israel

altThe Nazareth Trust seeks suitable Christian volunteers for its three month summer programme (June to August) or its six month programme (November to April) called SERVE Nazareth. Activities will range from youth and children’s work, to work in local schools and churches, to general projects like painting and gardening as well as working with the Nazareth Hospital. The overall cost of the three month programme is £3000 and the six month programme £6000.

Help develop a rural community in Malawi

titleThe Kachimbeka Project in northern Malawi is seeking a Christian administrator with experience in development work for a minimum of one year. Overall cost for one year approximately £3000.

Work on development issues in Tanzania

titleThe Anglican diocese of Mara in Tanzania requires a volunteer with experience in development and fundraising to help train the Christians in the parishes on Development and Discipleship issues. One year minimum. Approximate cost for one year is £4500.

altGDQ International School is seeking Christian teachers for Levels 1 – 13. Situated in the capital Tirana, modern facilities and a modest housing allowance are available. The basic cost for one term would be approximately £2500.

altR.V.O-Ghana is dedicated to providing meaningful and affordable volunteer projects across the length and breath of Ghana in the areas of health, volunteering, community development and education. The cost for a month’s placement is £2000, for three months, £2500.
