Nakuru churches need you for Christian work thru' 'International Volunteers'.

Youth Organization for International Volunteers, Nakuru works with local churches to provide mission work in and around Nakuru. One month in this placement would cost approximately £2500, three months £3700. This comprises the return air fare, insurance, visa, a donation to Christians Abroad to help cover administrative costs and a local project fee covering all food and accommodation, transport from Nairobi airport to the host family, and supervision, training and refreshments at the project itself.

Nakuru is a small pleasantly situated town in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. There are good local amenities, medical facilities and internet access. Tourist sites include Nakuru National Park, Maasai Mara, Menengai Crater and the Elementaita game reserve all within reach which can be visited at weekends.

Accommodation is provided in a modern buiding with good facilities.

Evangelism & Outreach Ministry

This programme partners with three local churches in Nakuru – the Catholic Church, Anglican Church of Kenya (Crater Parish), Cornerstone Church and Cornerstone Lord’s Sanctuary Church. The Crater Parish of Nakuru’s Anglican Church has around 800 members, a number of which are local volunteers. Cornerstone Church has around 60 members and Cornerstone Lord’s Sanctuary Church has a membership of around 250.

This programme gives volunteers the opportunity to carry out ministry in association with the pastors and local volunteers from these churches.

Your duties will vary but may include:

  1. Ministry in slums, the churches, schools and villages,
  2. Conducting bible studies and bible clubs,
  3. Taking part in gospel ministry,
  4. Delivering messages to church congregations.
  5. Mentoring church workers.
