Community based projects need volunteers in Madurai, Southern India. Local contact  Miriam Sahayani arranges placements and accommodation. Cost: One month, £2000.  Three months, £2500.

Volunteers can be found placements teaching English, doing environmental work, working in a national newspaper office and a variety of hospital placements in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.  Miriam has contacts with a range of local schools, hospitals and other organisations. She provides a two day cultural induction course and private accommodation next to her home. She gives excellent assistance and company and arranges local transport etc as required.

Cost: The toal cost includes  air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation, subsistence and the Christians Abroad administration fee. Air fares vary according to season.

Christians Abroad has a long association with this project and has recruited a number of volunteers in recent years.
