Serve the Community in Kenya

Community Services Foundation provides a range of services to the poor in Mombasa, Kenya. Volunteers with medical skills especially needed. One month would cost £1800, three months would cost £2500. The total cost includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation and the Christians Abroad administration fee. Please note: air fares vary according to season.
Volunteers can choose from a range of services:
¨ educational (teaching, building schools, distributing educational materials),
¨ health (nursing, working in hospitals),
¨ social work (counselling, feeding children, distributing food, and clothing), and
¨ religious (planting churches and evangelizing).
Transport to and from the airport and the project sites is not included in the overall cost and amounts to about £1 a day.
A founder member of the charity writes: “Together with another British volunteer we ran clinics in the slum for the children and parents of the school and those who live in the surrounding area. I bought medications and together we treated many people who otherwise would have been unable to afford medical care. We were shocked when we saw many children with severe signs of malnutrition and other medical conditions for which they were unable to afford treatment. We did what we could at the time but realised it was so little and that the people in the area really needed more assistance.”
Christians Abroad has not yet recruited volunteers for this project, but has received good references from other volunteers.
