Christian work in Nazareth, Israel
The Nazareth Trust seeks suitable Christian volunteers for its three month summer programme (June to August) or its six month programme (November to April) called SERVE Nazareth. Activities will range from youth and children’s work, through work in local schools and churches, to general projects like painting and gardening as well as working with the Nazareth Hospital. The overall cost of the three month programme is £3000 and the six month programme £6000. The
SERVE Nazareth programme fees include food, accommodation, a three month
language and culture preparation course plus the cost of flights, visa,
travel within the country and the Christians Abroad administration fee.
Air fares may vary according to season.
Enthusiastic Christian volunteers are invited to take part in either of these two programmes. The age requirement for the SERVE Nazareth programme is 18 years of age or older. Accommodation is located in the Nazareth Hospital, with all living expenses included in the overall programme cost. A three month preparation course is provided, with continuing study during the placement which includes leadership training and an accredited seminary course.
One volunteer writes: “Being a volunteer at the Nazareth hospital has been the most life-changing adventure for me. Last year was my third year as a volunteer and each year is better than the last as I have made friends from all over the world, not to mention the wonderful friendships with the local people.”
Please note: Christians Abroad has not yet recruited any volunteers for this project, but it is highly recommended by other volunteers.
The Nazareth Trust has its own website: www.nazarethtrust.org which includes a video.
