Work on development issues in Tanzania

titleThe Anglican diocese of Mara in Tanzania requires a volunteer with experience in development and fundraising to help train the Christians in the parishes on Development and Discipleship issues. One year minimum. Approximate cost for one year is £4500. The cost of getting out to this project, i.e. air fare, visa, insurance and admin costs for Christians Abroad are approximately £1800. Food and accommodation for one year would be approximately £2700. However, air fares vary according to season.

The Development and Discipleship project was established in 2005 by CMS mission partner Mike Wisheart. There is a great need for teaching and leadership in the following areas: Bible study and prayer groups, HIV / Aids, sanitation, primary health care, malnutrition and basic literacy. Skills in preparing proposals and seeking funding would be valuable.

Please note: Christians Abroad has not yet recruited volunteers for this project but has received a good reference from the regional Bishop.
