The Lighthouse Children's Home, Goa
Volunteers are welcomed to the Lighthouse Children’s Home to help children affected by HIV, and those from economically deprived backgrounds. Assistance with administration is also needed. The overall cost for one month would be approximately £2000, for three months £2500.The overall costs include a full support package dealing with air fares, insurance, visa, health and CRB checks,
preparation course, travel to and from Goa airport, accommodation and meals and a donation to Christians Abroad towards administrative costs. It does not include spending money for tourism etc.
Childcare, teaching, healthcare and construction skills in Kenya.
Volunteer Hope Africa runs projects in Watamu on the coast, Nyeri in a rural setting and in Nairobi requiring help in an orphanage, a school, a dispensary and in construction of new facilities. One month would cost approximately £2000, three months £2600. Placements for up to six months are possible. The estimated cost includes the air fare, health and travel insurance, visa, food and accommodation and a donation to Christians Abroad towards administration costs.

Teach poor children in Cameroon
The Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC) would like volunteers to teach in its school for poor children in a village close to the city of Yaounde. The total cost would be £1800 for one month or £2100 for three months. Air fares vary according to season, however. The total cost is composed of the return air fare, tourist visa and travel and health insurance, the cost of food and accommodation and a donation towards the cost of administration.
Help Children in Cameroon
United Action for Children needs volunteers to teach in nursery/primary schools, organize sports activities, assist in a ‘School on Wheels’ project in villages, teach basic computer, help in fundraising and help in office work. The cost for one month is £1800 and for three months £2200. The
total cost includes air fares, visas, insurance, accommodation and
meals and the Christians Abroad administration fee. It does not include
spending money or tourism costs. Air fares vary according to season,
however.
Help in a Tanzanian Orphanage
Wa Watoto orphanage in northern Tanzania is hoping for more volunteer help with their 78 orphaned children. One month would cost approximately £2000, three months £2800. The total cost includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation (rent, electricity, water, night watchman and a donation to the orphanage) and the Christians Abroad administration fee. Air fares may vary according to season.
Teaching, Health Care, Working with Children or Animals in Kenya
Volunteering opportunities in teaching, healthcare, environmental and construction work, caring for orphans and veterinary experience in Kenya is organised by Nairobi based Gracepatt Ecotours. Overall cost for a month’s stay is approximately £2500.This includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation, meals and a donation towards the cost of administration.

Volunteers needed for educational and sporting activities in Tanzania, East Africa. Placements are organised by ‘Caretakers of the Environment’ in cooperation with Christians Abroad. Cost: One month, £2500, three months, £3200. The
total price includes air fares, visas, insurance, health and CRB
checks, accommodation and a donation to Christians Abroad towards the
cost of administration.
Teach English to children in Sri Lanka
Help is needed teaching English to local children (including orphans) in the school of the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin in Gampola, Sri Lanka, and caring for the basic needs of young children in the orphanage. Cost: One month approximately £1600, Three months approximately £2000. The total price includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation, meals and a donation towards the cost of Christians Abroad administration.
Teaching, Healthcare, Children or Administration in India
Teaching and healthcare opportunities in India are provided by the Society for Educational & Environmental Development (SEED) near Calcutta. A boys home, a health clinic and an office are all in need of volunteers. Cost: I month approximately £1600; three months, £2000. The total cost includes air fares, visa, insurance, accommodation, subsistence and a donation towards the cost of Christians Abroad administration.
